For months Betty and I have awaited the opening of the 606, a park and trail that was once an elevated railroad track. Opening June 6 we made our way to travel the 2.7 mile trail. Getting on at Milwaukee Ave. and Leavitt we rode to one end and then to the other. Check out http://www.the606.org where you’ll find a printable map that overviews the trail, parks that connect to it, and on/off ramps.
Betty’s Response: yeeeehawww and wooohooo!
Completely jazzed about the ride, Betty and I made our way downtown to an exhibit at the Gage Gallery. Delighted by a teaser on the front page of June 4th’s Reader…
I completely enjoyed the show featuring 10 decades of Chicago photojournalism in black and white. Here are a few favorite images to hopefully get you to the Gage however, please forgive the reflections from the frame’s glass.
A beautiful day of learning about what I didn’t know! Yep and woo! So Betty and I are off on another adventure but as always, before we go, we invite you to also get out there and SHOW ME WHAT YOU DON’T KNOW!!!!
