This past week Betty and I cruised over to 59 E. Van Buren Street to check out a recently painted mural by Italian artist, Never 2501.

The Wabash Arts Corridor, Chicago Loop Alliance (CLA), Vertical Gallery, and The Buckingham have partnered in an effort to integrate street art throughout areas of Wabash Avenue (from Congress Parkway to Wacker Drive).
Betty’s Response: I know where the first mural of this outdoor series is located! Let me show you what you don’t know…
Hmmmm, we will see and I’ll post that find next week.
Next we headed over to the DePaul Art Museum at 935 W. Fullerton Avenue and met up with a good buddy and a would-be pinhole camera photographer. Liminal Infrastructure is on exhibition through 8/9.

Yep, my mom! Woo!
LA’s Metabolic Studio along with photographer Lauren Bon, Richard Nielsen, and Tristan Duke created a project to document water resources and uses. Although the project has been going on since 2010 and pictures have been taken in various locations, the focus last October was Chicago’s waterways (first three images). With the use of a giant shipping crate pinhole camera the atmospheric images average in size around 6 feet by 4 feet.

We were so jazzed we headed out to take some images of our own! After they are developed, and if they turn out, I’ll share those with you later.
And so before Betty and I go I want to remind you to get out there, explore, look for artistic expression and inspiration EVERYWHERE and last of all, SHOW ME WHAT YOU DON’T KNOW!!!
