First of all let’s reflect on last year’s winter, ugh! I refer to it as the “endless, unrelenting, unsympathetic 2014 winter of horribleness.” Anyway with that said this year has been so much better. It’s what I call normal winter and on a glorious 40 degree day (which was a little unforgiving on the sculptures) Betty and I scrambled over to the Navy Pier to check out Snow Days Chicago. Once a year, usually February, professional teams from the US and around the world, along side student sculptors from Chicago area high schools, get together and create!
Betty’s Response: Do they need models? I’ve got a killer back wheel…

-The residual purpose of art is purposeless play. This play however, is an affirmation of life–Not an attempt to bring order out of chaos nor to suggest improvements in creation, but simply a way of waking up to the very life we’re living, which is so excellent once one gets one’s mind and one’s desires out of its way and lets it act of its own accord. -John Cage
