This week we traveled to Chi-town Futbol for evidence of a very special program and the spirit of friendship and community.

Upon entering the center you immediately know this is a welcoming and fun place. Walls and walls of painted murals greet, intrigue, and simply put, make you smile. Responsible for this project, and supporting the mission to give local teens an opportunity “to explore and develop their talents,” is the non-for-profit organization After School Matters. As I explored I couldn’t help but wish I had been here to see these kids having a good time painting, making friendships, all while contributing color and life to their community.

So what’s left but to let the games begin!!! This group of guys have been meeting up after work on Sundays for two years for an hour of full-on PLAY!
So Betty and I are off on our next adventure but before we go we’re extending to you the invitation to get out there, look for art and artistic expression EVERYWHERE, and most importantly…SHOW ME WHAT YOU DON’T KNOW!!!
