    • Governors State University, Nathan Manilow Sculpture Park…Inside/Out

Posted at 6:22 pm by jan, on June 17, 2014

Inhibition: To tour the Nathan Manilow outside sculpture park at Governors State University alone. The incredible, gorgeous landscape is a little intimidating and this particular day there seems to be no one around.

Betty’s Response: Just be aware and we’ll not go too far off the main trail sissy pants.

Experience: Before I get started let me first apologize for this late blog post. Due to technical difficulty (lost and found images) I’m playing catch-up. Never-the-less persistence over-came! Woo!

What I Didn’t Know: How incredibly FUN and liberating it was to bike this park ALONE! Immersed in the landscape along side these giant sculptures gave me the feeling that I was part of one giant art piece. And although I did feel a little vulnerable at the furthest point of the park, only a few minutes passed until I saw two security men on golf carts buzzing around.

What I Do Know: I am so thankful for the opportunity to exhibit my work in the Governors State University’s Fine Art Gallery. The show, Art Gathering: Sculptors Connect, opens June 28 from 3-5pm and exhibit until August 16, 2014.

So as always a great big extension of an invite to get out there people and…SHOW ME WHAT YOU DON’T KNOW!!!!
