House of Hookah, 607 Belmont Ave., http://www.chicagohookah.com
Inhibition: Even though I’m not a smoker, visiting a hookah lounge is an interest of mine. However, I am concerned I’ll be green as a gourd when it’s all said and done.
Betty’s Response: Haaaaaa, aahhhaaaammmm…whew!…Listen gourd dork, when you roll your own we can talk.
Experience: This week Betty and I cruised to the House of Hookah. From a menu of over 45 tobaccos also known as shisha, and with the help of my server, I chose Fakhfakhina. Combined with notes of molasses this tobacco’s flavor profile is red apples and spices.
What I didn’t know: That although I didn’t leave with a hookah and stash, I also didn’t leave sick. The experience was really enjoyable. My server was super cool and helped me pair the tobacco with the apple cider beer I brought along (BYOB 2 bucks house fee). I also didn’t know setting up a hookah for one was no problem (there were others solo 🙂 and how light, smooth, and tasty smoking through a hookah is.
All right cat daddios (hookah influenced) Betty and I are out for now but extending to ALL…SHOW ME WHAT YOU DON’T KNOW!!!!
