This week Betty and I travel to Catherine Edelman Gallery to view Sandro Miller’s homage to photographic icons and some of their most famous images. Even better is the retextualization of these works with John Malkovich as subject. The exhibition, Sandro Miller: Malkovich, Malkovich, Malkovich: Homage to Photographic Masters, has recently added five new pieces and the show in its entirety can be viewed until January 31, 2015. Beautifully installed, labels with titles and original photogropher are omitted giving the viewer the opportunity to think. However, all images and details can be found at, http://edelmangallery.com/exhibitions-and-projects/exhibition-pages/2014/sandro-miller-malkovich,-malkovich,-malkovich-homage-to-photographic-masters.html.
Betty’s Response: Brilliant! And good luck not giggling out loud the whole way through!
Alright! So Betty and I are out for now however we’re extending to you a giant invitation to get out there and SHOW ME WHAT YOU DON’T KNOW!!!!
-The residual purpose of art is purposeless play. This play however, is an affirmation of life–Not an attempt to bring order out of chaos nor to suggest improvements in creation, but simply a way of waking up to the very life we’re living, which is so excellent once one gets one’s mind and one’s desires out of its way and lets it act of its own accord. -John Cage
