Inhibition: After a 60 hour work week, I’m beat. It’s Friday 11:00pm, Betty and I are on the train home and I’ve done nothing this week for the project. I’m thinking of getting off the train along Milwaukee Avenue where many theaters and bars are hosting film and music events for CIMM FEST. Because this makes me uncomfortable to have no plans I hesitate.
Betty’s Response: We’re getting off the train right now…you know Logan Theater is hosting some of the event cry baby so we’ll go there.
Experience: Although I was late, I got in on the Chicago premier of the documentary, The Last Kamikazis of Heavy Metal. Based in Chicago, heavy metal band Hessler hits the road on tour. Now let me be honest here and say I don’t have a huge collection of heavy metal (none) however, I do have a love of music, and more specifically, a deep appreciation of why music appeals to us individually. With that said, the comments made throughout the film from lead/rhythm guitarist Frankie (Snakes) Sripada were humble expressions that I could relate to as an artist. And get this!!!!! That dude was there! I met him on my way back from the bathroom! Ha! Not only is this guy a badass guitarist but he is super keeewwwllll!
OK!! So Betty and I are out for now but extending a big invitation to YOU…get out there and SHOW ME WHAT YOU DON’T KNOW!!!!
