Inhibition: Go to this comedy festival alone. Also, what if it’s not funny and I’ll be trying to laugh when really I’m dying of embarrassment for the performer.
Betty’s response: Give me a break…geez…maybe you should call your mom and she can drive you there and wait outside. What are you, 10?
Experience: Last night, first time ever, I attended the opening evening of Stage 773’s Sketch Comedy Festival (this festival runs January 9-19th)! I loved it and to all of you completely unaware of this blog, GO!!! I bought the full night’s pass and saw The Dancing Pig, The Business, and my favorite of night, The Sean Miller Explosion. The last mentioned performed a final skit that had me in tears…and let’s just say, black pantyhose were re-contextualized, heehee! A big thanks to Executive Producer, Brian Posen and his entire crew for an awesome night! I had so much fun that I only took one pic in the lobby and one of the ladies bathroom sink (I’ll need to improve on picture taking time.)
What I didn’t know: That enjoying creative artists perform, in a fantastic theater I knew nothing about, far outweighs being uncomfortable, no doubt!
