Inhibition: After two weeks without a day off I am SUPER excited about doing several things on my “photo-booth” quest. However, my interest are located a few miles apart and before I ever get on my way I’m trying to talk myself out of doing them all.

Betty’s Response: Please, we got this.

Experience: Today I set out for a photo-booth snap on Milwaukee Ave., then to the Mexican Art Museum for the opening of the Day of the Dead exhibition, and then boogie over to the Old Town School of Folk Music.

Be ready for this booth’s snaps. There’s no “say cheese” prompt as indicated by my first picture, ha!

A brief stop off for a brew at Cermak and Damen.

A brief stop for a brew at Cermak and Damen. I passed this bar twice because I was chicken to go in. So I had to laugh after I mustered up the courage to enter because the bar was full of ladies…ha!

This installation by artist, Marcos Raya, was perhaps the most intriguing work. Depicting a family's history with found images, he carefully drew over each image the iconic day of the dead mask.

What I didn’t know: That I could bike 30 miles in a day (although technically it was after midnight when I got home 🙂 ) That the Day of the Dead tradition is not only incredibly interesting but is a practice I aspire to. And last how inspired I would feel after 3 hours of absolutely fantastic music performed by artist who were not only talented but also cared about each other and projected love and goodwill to all of us that were there.

A million thanks to Pokey Lafarge for your music and performance and gathering together these unbelievable musicians for your Central Time Tour!

Alright, Betty and I are off but before we go here’s a great big invitation to all to get out there and SHOW ME WHAT YOU DON’T KNOW!!!!!
