This week Betty and I would like to dedicate the blog entry to my nephew, an ardent Steampunk fan and a super kewl dude.
So hopefully some of you have gotten in on the summer performances, exhibitions, installations, and experiences taking place in Chicago Loop alley spaces. An initiative by Chicago Loop Alliance to create an “urban experience,” Activate pop-up art series takes place on the last Thursday or Friday of each month from May to October. With Steampunk as the theme this month Betty and I headed over to Haddock Place Alley (at State Street between Wacker Place and Lake Street).

Influenced by 19th century industrial steam powered machinery, the British Victorian era, technology, and fantasy, Steampunk juxtapositions historical and futuristic cultures resulting in imaginative inventions, art, design, and fashion.
Thanks to all artists involved and especially those who labeled their work so I could mention you by name. I was a little disappointed I couldn’t find all artists listed on the Loop Alliance website or any of the material printed for the evening because without you there would be no show at all.
So for now Betty and I are off but before we go we invite you all to get out there and SHOW ME WHAT YOU DON’T KNOW!
